According to forecasts of the UN by 2050 80% of the population will live in urban areas that will cause essential increase in demand for food. Therefore the subject of providing what and steady food in the cities will be staticized. The new method, which has been offered, for a solution of the problem of satisfaction of the growing demand for food in the cities consists in development and deployment of vertical agro-industrial buildings - vertical farms. Vertical agriculture is a concept, municipal economy in high-rise buildings designed to provide the population with food in urban areas where there are problems with land resources, space and difficult climatic conditions of agriculture. Now we become witnesses of introduction of similar complexes in the cities worldwide where they are an integral part of modern municipal economy of the XXI century. The volume of researches and projects on a subject of vertical farms from single objects to the whole city quarters and urbanistic transformations of city landscapes is huge.
