Ecological psychiatry is a new psychiatric discipline which exceeded the bounds of radiation medicine, inherited its methodological approaches and problems, was formed and is actively developing after Chernobyl accident and under its influence. On example of liquidators of consequences of radiation accident, on material of many-year complex study of mental health of these patients, clinical issues, nature and nosological characteristics of diseases, specifics of medico-social situation, influence of biological factors, rehabilitative range of problems, interconnections of Ecological psychiatry with related psychiatric disciplines: clinical, biological, social psychiatry and addiction psychiatry are considered.
