On the example of small reservoirs in the basin of the right tributary of the Oder examined the ecological functions of anthropogenic water bodies in the post-technogenic landscapes of the Silesian Upland (southern Poland). The main stages of hydrotechnical works in the valley of the river at the place of the developed quarry, the tendencies of modern overgrowing of its water surface and changes in economic functions are revealed. With the use of historical and modern cartographic materials, changes in the area of the reservoir and its shape were traced, the distribution of vegetation was compiled, and the dominant plant species were determined. It was revealed that the forms of distribution and development of plant communities in the studied reservoirs largely depend on the nature of their use and the degree of improvement of the coastal zone.
