The article considers the structure of the federal adapted educational program of preschool education for students with disabilities. The concepts of “the federal adapted educational program” and “the adapted educational program of preschool education for students with disabilities” are distinguished. The place and possibilities of ecological education of preschoolers with mental retardation are investigated in accordance with the federal adapted educational program of preschool education for students with mental retardation. The analysis of the use of modeling activities and the project method in the formation of ecological representations of preschoolers with mental retardation has been carried out.
