Ecology and plant protection

This article is an overview of scientific publications on the problems of ecology and plant protection in agriculture. There are considered the term of ecology given Ernst Haeckel, the basic laws of ecology of Barry Commoner and three types of environmental consciousness: anthropocentric, environmental and ecocentric. Distribution and production of pesticides in Russia and in the world, the problem of inventories of old, unusable and banned pesticides, health problems of people, and the fact of the pesticide use by the USA as chemical weapons in Vietnam are analyzed. A new serious environmental problem - the death of bees from pesticides in the world is covered. An overview of the world scientists’ papers about the negative impact of GMOs on the environment, soil and soil organisms, humans and animals is presented. The modern trends and tendencies in the field of alternative agriculture: no-till-technology, landscapeadaptive farming, ecological farming, biodynamic farming, organic and biological farming, permaculture, natural farming, patrimony and ancestral state, organic farming as ways and means of negotiation of an environmental crisis in agriculture are provided. The ways and directions of ecological protection of the main oil crops are planned.
