Economic capacity as the basis for sustainable development of a municipality

The article deals with the issue of sustainable socio-economic development of a municipality based on its economic capacity. The research area under study is an important vector of strategic sustainable spatial development not only at the municipal level, but also at the level of the Republic of Buryatia as a whole. As part of study, we have identified the economic capacity of socio-economic development of a municipality, the priority growth area, analyzed the key economic indicators of socio-economic situation in Ulan-Ude for determining its economic capacity, and as a result, ensuring sustainable development of the municipality. Given the fact that aircraft building is represented by a group of enterprises, it is the main vector of sustainable development. The development of mechanical engineering in difficult geopolitical conditions is competitive and at the same time priority area. In addition, promising areas are deep processing of white and green jade, wild plants and berries. This makes it possible to reduce social tension, ensure the creation of new jobs, increase the local budget and thereby strengthen the economic capacity of municipal sustainable development.
