The article considers excursion activity as an instrument of popularizing natural and cultural heritage. Taking a cultural program within their upgrading professional development course in Dublin city as an example, the authors emphasize the effectiveness and efficiency of the organizations engaged in conserving and promoting the heritage of the Republic of Ireland such as Failte Ireland, Tourism Ireland , Irish Tourism Industry Confederation, Discover Ireland centers and Carrolls Irish Gifts souvenir shops. Special attention is paid to some techniques used in the excursion activity.
