Excursion method of mastering the historical and cultural environment of the city. The project "Discover Rostov: school of guides of the Southern Federal University"

In the article the experience of the implementation of the project of the students of Southern Federal University “Discover Rostov: School of Guides” is revealed. This project is related to popularization of the historical and cultural heritage of Rostov-on-Don. The aim of an educational project is to create favorable conditions for the development of educational tourism in Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov Region. The project includes the training of competent guides from among the students of the Southern Federal University as well as organization and conducting of free interactive thematic excursions for the youth of the city. The novelty of the project is that the excursion method of mastering the urban environment is being implemented. The author of the article emphasizes that the excursion in the project serves not only as a method of knowing the world, but also as an opportunity for socialization, cultural adaptation and creative realization of young people. The project “opens a city” for the young people. It creates a new cultural space for interaction and communication.
