One of the topical methodological problems connected with teaching a high school course of mathematics is to implement its applied and interdisciplinary orientation ensuring the formation of complete system of encyclopedic knowledge, skills and capabilities. One of trends in solving this problem is the use of the principle of pupils’ independent cognitive activity. One of the most effective methods of realisation of this principle is an experiment where pupils are involved in research activity resulted not only in relation of knowledge and skills in a subject, but also skills to carry out independent cognitive activity. The article offers a mechanism for solving the posed problem through integration of physical experiment based on digital measuring complexes with teaching mathematics. The methodology of studying such concepts as “function”, “functional dependence” within research work of pupils is given a detailed account. Based on the above methodology developed by the author the article highlights the organisation of elective courses of a pre-profile and profile orientation. Proposed pedagogical solutions passed evaluation test resulting in significant improvement of quality of preparation of high school students in cognitive and motivation aspects.
