Experimental research of students’ motivation while learning a foreign language at school

The article presented deals with the problem of up-to-date means motivating students to learn foreign languages at schools. The necessity of improving teaching methods supposes the experimental organization, deep investigation and analysis of motivation, its psychological mechanisms and development in the process of education. The research analyses emotional attitude, interest, emotional state, dominating motives to learn a foreign language. The features of foreign language as a school subject, psycho physiological students’ characteristics contributing to motivation decrease are described. The term «motivation of learning foreign languages» having been defined, the structure, criteria and levels of developing students’ motivation to learn a foreign language are offered. It is emotions that motivate and create positive attitude. The idea of using different means creating emotionally comfortable atmosphere during lessons, thus making educational process more efficient, is noted. The article presents the analysis of characteristic features of motivation in juvenile age. Recommendations of optimization an educational process are given on the basis of the received results.
