Equivalence and adequacy of translation of legal texts

In this article the author analyses such properties of legal texts as equivalence and adequacy. These two interrelated properties are of utmost importance in the process of translation of legal texts and terms. The peculiarities of equivalence and adequacy of translation of legal texts are investigated, the main problems of the topic are identified and the levels, types and factors of equivalence are defined. Examples of equivalence and adequacy of translation of legal texts are given, as well as the main ways and methods of their provision.
