Elements of historicism in teaching higher mathematics

The article discusses the possibilities of using historical and mathematical facts in teaching higher mathematics in engineering areas at the university. Elements of historicism motivate students to study the subject, increase the reliability for self-education, contribute to the emergence of greater interest in mathematics, the application of acquired knowledge in future professional activities, solving practical problems. The author suggests the provisions, possible questions and teaching methods that can be used when introducing elements of historicism in teaching higher mathematics.
