The article points out that the sources of dance culture of the each nation are inseparably connected with the religious beliefs, labor traditions and everyday life. The author considers the peculiarities of the Buryats’ traditional culture interaction with the professional choreographic culture, its main directions. The inclusion of the elements of folk dance in modern choreographic performances enriches them significantly. The boundaries of ethnic culture existence as well as the possibilities of its manifestations on the level of professional choreographic creativity are expanding.
