The article deals with the elements of culture and literature of the Hellenistic period in modern Russian literature. In the Hellenistic period, a culture arose that significantly differed from the polis culture that had existed for several centuries. If analysed properly, it turns out to be very similar in some details to the culture of our time. The research is based on the principles of the comparative historical method. We have considered such Hellenistic elements, as syncretism, cosmopolitanism, individualism, skepticism, dominance of playing characters, mythologism, philologism and bodycentrism. The material of our research was the works of modern authors V. Makanin, A. Ivanov, V. Pelevin, E. Vodolazkin, Z. Prilepin, E. Limonov, I. Stogov, etc. The identified elements demonstrate a clear similarity between the culture of Hellenism and modern Russian literature. The proposed comparison allows us to model the further cultural development, identify axiological prospects and priorities.
