In the article the symbolic images of A. Block’s poem “The Retribution” are considered, they express social, historical and ideological constants of the epoch. An emblem is stated to be one of the varieties of symbolic image and symbolic images of a spiral, comet, motive of mazurka, historical figures (Dostoyevsky, Pobedonostsev), father’s image have emblematic nature in the Block’s poem.
