The research results of CO 2 emission from natural landscape soils by absorption method in exp. conditions are presented. It is established that high rates of CO2 emission are characteristic for brown earth with high humus content with an average degree of soil catalase enrichment. The four soil groups according to the amount of CO 2 loss are singled out. The high correlations between the humus content and CO 2 emissions, as well as humus and soil catalase activity are determined.
