Emotional-labile personality disorders in military men after reduction of the period of military service (clinical, clinical-dynamic aspects)

Two groups of military men with personality disorders have been examined. Group 1 has been entered by 167 persons having served in the army for two years (before 2008). Group 2 included 42 persons having served in the army for one year (since 2008). After reduction of the period of military service up to one year, number of military men with personality disorders who were given an early discharge on medical grounds has decreased. Emotional-labile personality disorder prevails in structure of personality abnormalities. Also according to results of research, shift at the expense of increase of emotional-labile personality disorder has occurred in diagnostic structure of personality abnormalities. Affective type with emotional-labile variant was the most frequent type of decompensation. Immediate event of draft with complex of experiences in the kind of “syndrome of deprived of liberty” was the most significant psychogenic factor for decompensation development. According to findings it is possible to implement therapeutic, preventive and rehabilitative activities for this contingent.
