Empirical study of the development of topological spatial concepts in older preschool children

The importance of developing topological spatial concepts in older preschoolers, which serve as the core basis for a general understanding of space, is substantiated. The diagnostic component of the process of development of topological spatial representations in children aged 5-7 years is presented. Possible levels of development of the concepts under study are determined; Diagnostic tools for their assessment are given. Based on the results of qualitative and quantitative processing of the obtained empirical results, conclusions were drawn about the need to organize formative work in order to increase the level of mastery of topological spatial concepts among students.
