Epidemiological picture of congenital heart and great vessels disease in Omsk city children

The prevalence and structure of congenital heart disease in Omsk child population (2113 cases in children from 0 to 17 years old inclusive) were studied. Total prevalence of all congenital heart diseases has averaged 1011,11±21,88 calculating on 100000 of children's population. In the pathology structure atrial septum defect, interventricular septum defect, patent arterial duct and pulmonary artery stenosis prevailed. Congenital aorta stenosis and aortic valve failure in boys and atrial septum defect and valves of a pulmonary artery stenosis in girls had the greatest unit weight. Diagnosing of congenital heart disease cases after the transfer from maternity home to pediatric clinics was in focus. Thereby we consider the echocardiographic examination in neonatal period to be prerequisite.
