We have carried out the retrospective analysis of 1355 medical records of the patients with urolithiasis referred to the ambulance of National Scientific Institute of Urology in a period of 1 year. Chi-square statistical test was used for analysis of data. The most visited months of the year were April and November (spring-autumn period). The minimal and maximal age of the patients (based on the analysis of 923 patients) was 8 months and 83 years. Female patients were dominating among adult patients. The incidence of urolithiasis is also significantly higher in the working age group, both in women and men. In male patients the number of working age group patients is 3 times more than that in the non-working age group males. Analysis on 109 patients have shown, that the co-morbidities are often present, namely dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension and metabolic syndrome. Purine metabolism is affected not only in case of uric acid urolithiasis, but also in more than 50% of patients with calcium-oxalate and magnesium-ammonium-phosphate stones. Treatment with Blemaren (Esparma, Germany) in monotherapy regimen for patients with uric acid and calcium-oxalate urolithiasis showed high efficacy with regard to litholysis, prophylaxis and treatment of uric acid and derivatives’ crystalluria and also to prophylaxis of oxalate crystalluria. The overall efficacy was 96.9%.
