The post-truth era in journalism and its role in interpreting facts

Бесплатный доступ

This work is a theoretical analysis and conceptualization of the post-truth era and its role in the interpretation of facts in this process. The phenomenon of the post-truth era itself is formed on the basis of the electoral process in foreign countries (France, great Britain, the United States) and is expressed in an unpredictable, unexpected election result. The conducted sociological and political research shows that there is a new mechanism for forming public opinion. Post-truth is studied as a communicative process that generates a narrative with specific properties: analytical conclusions and individual facts have less persuasive power than ready-made interpretations. Such interpretations are correlated with the personal beliefs of citizens and, in particular, are cultivated in politicized Internet communities.
