Stages of e-learning development and their impact on the emergence of new technological standards of e-learning quality

The paper gives an overview of the history of development of technological standards and the forms of e-learning. The connection between them is established. Standards of e-learning become quickly outdated because the technology the e-learning is based on is constantly evolving. The aim of the article is to describe the development stages of e-learning identifying the connection between the development of information technology and the technological standards of e-leaning. On the analyses of the literature in the field of technological standardization of e-learning the periodization of the development of technological standards and forms of e-learning was made. It is shown that to provide high quality of e-leaning you must have the actual standards and use the state-of-the-art technologies. The novelty of the research is that for the first time the connection between the history of the development, standards and forms of e-learning are given and the periodization of the development of e-learning was made. The identified stages of the e-learning development can be used to familiarize students with the history of the forms of e-learning.
