Stages of development of higher education

This article is devoted to the history of the higher education in Russia, its peculiarities, preconditions for its appearing. The development of Russia’s higher education in different periods of our history is described: it’s appearing in the tsar time, it’s changing in the XX century and its improving at present. The problem of modern higher education and its perspectives is also touched upon.
