The article deals with a theoretical and methodological, historical and pedagogical vein treatment the category of «the virtuous life» of the preachy literature of our country from the XVIII - the first half of the XIX century and provides scientific and educational interpretation it contained therein methods and techniques of familiarizing children to the norms, values and regulations of doing socially acceptable and approved by the life. Particular attention is given to the consideration of the influence of Christian thought on the ethical and pedagogical understanding of a virtuous life, based upon the universal values of goodness, truth and beauty.
