Etymological features of the Latin names of skull bones

In the presented study, a number of medical terms of the anatomical section «Osteology» are subjected to etymological analysis, in particular, the names of the bones of the skull. The essential features underlying the nomination are revealed: features of appearance, shape, structure, location, functions of anatomical structures, etc. In parallel, examples of the functioning of single-root words in Russian are given in order to build stable associations and facilitate the memorization of special terminology by students of a medical university. The special role of studying the origin of the names of anatomical terms in the educational process is noted.
