Ethnic heterostereotypes in the world picture of Russian and American adolescents

The article discusses the results of an experimental study aimed at examining heterostereotypes of Russian and American adolescents. The novelty of the work lies in the study of the conventional images of American teenagers about Russians and vice versa - of Russian teenagers about Americans in the context of the changing political situation in the world. The study was conducted in 2 stages, implemented in 2019 and 2023, which made it possible to compare ethnic heterostereotypes and trace the dynamics of their changes in two groups of the experiment participants. The object of the study are groups of Russian and American adolescents. The subject of the study is the dynamics of the associative field of their heterostereotypes. In the experimental study, a method of associative experiment (with multiple reactions to the same word) was used, which makes it possible to study the core and periphery of the phenomenon under study.
