The author generalizes and searches for artistic patterns in the literature of Buryatia of the Soviet period and at the stage of modernity. In the works of the Buryat writers M. Zhigzhitov and V. Garmayev, an appeal to the fate of the Evenk people is revealed. The article shows the central role of the image of an Evenk hunter as a keeper of ancient traditions in the character system of M. Zhigzhitov’s novels “My Little Marikan” and “The Path of Samagir”. The formulation of a national perspective in the novel “Kopa-chi” by V. Garmaev is revealed. Depicting the life of the Evenk people in the lower reaches of the tribal river, the writer addresses the tragic nature of the conflict between civilization and nature. The cult attitude to nature, traditional for Siberian peoples, the mythological views of Buryats and Evenks are established in the novel as the basis of the dialogue of cultures.
