Evolution and current state of territorial tourist and recreational systems of the Crimean peninsula

The article studies the historical development and state of the art of the Crimean Peninsula's territorial tourist and recreational systems. The evolution of territorial tourist and recreational systems on the Crimean Peninsula has passed through numerous stages of its development and has a long and rich history. As a result, the upper classes of society used the Crimean Peninsula as a destination and resort before mass tourism took off. Crimea was one of the most popular resorts in the USSR. Today, the territorial tourist and recreational systems of the Crimean Peninsula are in the stage of transformation. In our country, creating and developing such systems is a top priority. This article examines the dynamics of the flow of tourists to the Crimean Peninsula, examines the history of tourism's growth there as a mass phenomenon, and describes the tourist and recreational sites on the peninsula as well as their areas of specialization. Tourist zones are distinguished from one another by their tourist-geographical location and tourist and recreational potential, which makes it possible to identify the region's tourism-related issues. This is achieved by differentiating the tourist and recreational areas of the Crimean Peninsula based on their potential for tourism. One issue is the dearth of visitor-friendly infrastructure, particularly in well-known tourism and recreational areas. Due to the high volume of visitors in Crimea's most well-known tourist and recreational areas, there are additional issues with environmental degradation and ecological balance disruption.
