The evolution of media education in Great Britain

The theoretical and pedagogical analysis of evolvement of media education in Great Britain having a half a century history is presented in the article. In the author's opinion rich British experience in the field of media education that had been shaped under the influence of liberal and democratic values and cultural-enlightening traditions can present a scientific interest for Russian scientists and educators.
