The article focuses on the specialized competencies of the product manager of the hotel. It is known that the key source of the formation, growth and introduction of innovations in the activities of the hotel is the creative activity associated with the creation and dissemination of innovations. To create and implement a new or reengineered hotel product that meets all the requirements of the consumer, not so long ago, such a direction as product management became widely used. The authors of this work set out to investigate the request of professional competencies to the product manager of the hospitality industry. The article puts forward proposals for a complex or set of knowledge, skills and abilities of applying the competencies of a product manager in the field of hotel product management. The product manager of the hotel product in his activity performs a financial assessment of the work of the hotel in terms of the implementation of the hotel product. The key competencies are the possession of the skills of operational and regular monitoring of quantitative indicators that allow to respond promptly to market changes. The article presents such parameters as Average daily room rate - average price per room / night; Revenue per available room per day - revenue of the room stock per room; (Revenue per Available Customer - revenue of the room stock per guest per day (month/year) and others. Specialized key indicators are actively used in the international practice of the hospitality industry. The basic competencies of a hotel product manager include three principles of hotel product strategizing: the formation of a product strategy; the selection and implementation of a pricing strategy; the formation and control of a service quality system.
