The young motherhood in Mongolia: social aspects

The article reviews the problems of teenage pregnancy in Mongolia, the prerequisite of which is a low level of teenagers’ awareness about options of contraception. The author studies how the underage mothers are supported by the “Gunzh" centre, which is engaged in educational work and social support of young mothers. The results of the survey of underage mothers in Ulan-Bator city as clients of “Gunzh" centre are described. Based on the survey results the paper provides guidelines for schools, parents, social service agencies.
