The article examines the problem of the correlation between religion and culture in Russia from a philosophical approach. The vector of the study touches on the statements by a number of scholars that other nations and peoples should welcome the example of the Orthodox Slavs as a tribe that has never known conflict between faith and reason, and leads to a more detailed analysis of the religious and cultural particularities of Russia, the cultural specificity of our country which differs significantly from that of most countries in the world. The significance of the work is due to the large-scale demonstration that science and Orthodox Christianity are only partly related to the philosophical and theological controversies in the Orthodox environment, as well as the fact that religion and science, as constituent parts of universal culture, certainly have points of contact in different spheres and have had mutual impact in specific retrospect. However, in today's cultural society this influence has been significantly weakened.
