Terminology of Art which is of primary importance for LSP is noted for its independent formation and development. Chronologically the source lexical units of the terms of art vary in age. The process of the formation of the terms of art started in the English language in the 17th century. The terms of art can be regarded not only as the depository of cultural legacy of humanity but as the main source of information concerning theoretical achievements in the field of art.
