On the problem of translation of the epic text

The article considers some problems and ways of translation of the epic text from the Buryat language into English. The examples are taken from the published variant of the Buryat epic «Abai Geser khubuun» which was translated from Buryat into English. The author pays special attention to the grammatical aspect of translation. Various morphological and syntactical, mixed transformations are pointed out in the translation.
