In articles and monographs devoted to the history of the Eurasian movement, it has become commonplace to assert that Eurasians were influenced by V. I. Lamansky and inherited from him the idea of the unity of the Eurasian world. This statement wanders from one work to another, and the researchers do not provide convincing facts, do not give quotations confirming this opinion, preferring to refer not to the primary sources, but to other researchers who expressed this opinion before them. This article attempts to approach the problem of the reception of Lamansky's ideas or their alleged influence on Eurasianism by analyzing the corpus of geographical texts by P. N. Savitsky. All his most important geographical, geosophical, historiosophical and economic works were analyzed, as well as all his published letters, early and late, for the mention of Lamansky's works. The article provides a list of authors cited and mentioned by Savitsky who influenced his work. Among the many names in Savitsky's works, Lamansky was mentioned only once in the article "Eurasianism" from 1925. Other Eurasians could not know Lamansky's works, since their interests lay in a completely different field. Florovsky may have been familiar with his writings, but there is no mention of Lamansky in his works devoted to Slavophilism. The systems of Lamansky and the Eurasians turned out to be parallel to each other - delineating the same space of the ideological field, they remained nevertheless different spiritual worlds with minimal contact.
