On predicates taxonomizing: common and specific features

The article examines the principles of taxonomization of semantic predicates, gives a characteristic of their distinctive features and identifies the features of their use in the idiostyle of a particular author. The existing classifications of predicates differ in both criteria and results. There is a need to unify classifications of predicates based on semantic grounds, as well as to propose a classification in relation to a specific idiostyle. The system of predicates is proposed, taking into account the achievements of leading scientists-semantists. These are predicates of action, process, eventfulness, relationship, state. The article uses a modular approach, which turns out to be more suitable for the analysis of natural language material, since it describes speech diversity, but does not give it exhaustive characteristics, but sets the possibility of a variety of approaches. It is concluded that the types of predicates described in the article identified for one particular author may be different for another.
