On redefining the concept of "socialization"

The article elaborates understanding of the students' socialization process. It raises the issue of reviewing the pedagogical foundations of high school students' socialization with regard to the changes that affected Russian and international societies and adoption of the new educational standards that took place in 2012. The influence of education and upbringing on students' socialization is discussed. Types of socialization are classified and its structure is shown. It is maintained that psychological and pedagogical foundations of socialization have dramatically changed and the study of the problem of new generation socialization in a new aspect is topical.
