On the question of the admissibility of advertising advocacy

The article is devoted to the issue of legal regulation of information about advocacy. The article compares the provisions of the Federal law “About advertising” and the Federal law “On advocacy and advocacy in the Russian Federation”, as well as analyzes the legal position of the courts and acts of the legal community on the issue under consideration. Two positions are allocated: the first is that advertising of lawyer’s activity is impossible, but placement of information on the lawyer and lawyer’s activity to which it is impossible to apply norms of the Federal law “About advertising” is allowed. The second is that the provisions of the legislation on advertising should be applied to relations related to the placement of information about advocacy. As a result of the study, the authors proposed options for improving the current legislation.
