On the issue of the information competence formation in higher school students

In the article the information competence of higher school students is considered. The definition of information competence is given, the basic components of information competence: information, cognitive, motivational, technological, communicative, reflexive and others are presented. The concept of the key competencies is given, the conclusion about information competence as the key competence is made. The role of the creativity and the importance of self-perfection for the formation of information competence are shown. The method of developing creativity of students is introduced through the development and analysis of information projects. Forms of creativity and the stages of its formation were proposed. In the article the communicative competence the importance of in the information competence formation is pointed out. The article also notes the role of motivation as a component of information competence of students. The author concludes that the information competence is one of the professionally significant qualities of a specialist.
