On the issue of the formation of modern youth jargon

The article is devoted to the problem of transformation of the jargon of modern youth. The main functional task of using youth jargon is its communicative function. Own unique language plays the role of an identifier and specific password in the discourse of youth subcultures. The formation of a specific society, as well as the external signs of identity and new linguistic formations are aimed primarily at the establishment of contact with peers, like-minded persons and the possibility of communicative act implementation. In current linguistic-cultural situation, which demonstrates the inter-penetration of virtual and real environment, one of the main sources of youth jargon increase is the Internet.
