Terminological difficulties are a serious problem in the study of marginal eschatology. In this regard, the article attempts to systematize the terms used and determine the scope of corresponding concepts. The author examines the meaning of such terms as “marginal eschatology”, “mythological eschatology”, “folk eschatology”, “laminar eschatology”, “adjective eschatology”. For the correct and consistent delineation of these terms, their semantic analysis was carried out, the specificity of terminology usage, stable connotations and semantic associations were analyzed. The modern discourse of marginal eschatology is poorly structured, the semantic components allow for the possibility of mutually exclusive interpretations, theological and mythological concepts are often not distinguished and are interpreted unsystematically. The proposed terminology seems to be variable enough to reflect all the main features of the discourse.
