Introducing functional planning of the urban pedestrian areas

This article shows the analysis of the main architectural and town-planning tendencies of how the urban pedestrian areas are planned and how they function. It sets forth the main rules of how to organize pedestrian traffic in urban areas and tendencies in planning pedestrian areas in the historical center of the city. Special attention was paid to organizing pedestrian traffic in the historical center of the city and its new areas. The article considers the main principles of separating pedestrian and transport traffic in urban areas.
