On the issue of drug legalization as a means of countering the drug situation

Based on the analysis of open sources, the article examines the arguments of supporters and opponents of the legalization of «light» drugs as a means of countering the drug situation and the consequences of such a step in some countries. The conclusion is made about the mutually exclusive nature of the arguments given, the determination of the need for such a step by the socio-political and moral situation in the country and the unacceptability of legalization for modern Russian society.
