On the issue of athletics as one of the components of physical training in higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

To date, athletics is a fundamental sport relative to others. In turn, it plays an important role in the formation of physical qualities necessary for an employee, which are designed to optimize his activities and help in solving complex, extreme tasks related to the protection of citizens, society and the state as a whole from unlawful encroachments. This study reflects the importance of athletics activities for law enforcement officers. The paper analyzes the main types of exercises included in the athletics section, which are used in physical training classes in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as ways to improve the physical capabilities of cadets within the framework of ongoing training.
