On the question оf German derivatives with confixes

The confixes -phob- and -man- are derived from the medical terms of Greek origin Phobie and Manie. In identifying semes and additional lexical connotations of word-formative constructions it is necessary to proceed from initial terminological value. By means of the paraphrasing method it is established that the basis of the constructions with confixes forms the structure «A person experiences fear or passion for something». The words with confixes are anthropocentric; they characterize the person’s attitude to the surrounding objects and processes.
