To the need of ethical review of genetic research

The development of molecular biology, especially in the part that closely comes into contact with human genetics, confronts us with the need for ethical expert support for biotechnology developments, the ultimate goal of which invariably becomes the transformation of human nature. The most daring developers of genomic corrections mean not only the elimination of bodily defects but also the increase of intellectual potential and even the moral «improvement» of man. The problem of ethical control in this area is not new, it originates in the history of infamous eugenics. But, in contrast, modern genetics has a much more destructive potential, which determines the relevance of research in this direction.
