To the issue of cocaine trafficking in Latin America and the Caribbean and its impact on the drug situation in Russia (based on press reviews)

The article analyzes the patterns of crime related to drug trafficking of cocaine in Latin America and the Caribbean; its impact on the drug situation in the Russian Federation is examined; examples of law enforcement practices to counter this negative phenomenon on the basis of press reviews of the States in question are used. In addition, the article considers the issues of cooperation between Russia and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in the field of combating illicit drug trafficking. It is concluded that there is necessity to develop and ratify additional agreements between the above-mentioned countries in the field of joint combating drug crimes.
