Бесплатный доступ

The article evaluates the main trends in spatial development in Russia. Key directions and trends in the country's territorial development are identified, including the concentration of economic activity in a few specific areas, stabilization of population numbers across regions, reduction of interregional disparities, transformation of the spatial organization of the national economy, maintenance of infrastructural constraints, and the increasing influence of scientific and technological progress on Russia’s development. Each trend is assessed, and its nature is described. It is noted that from a territorial-geographic perspective, particular emphasis is placed on the development of specific areas, such as the Far East and the Arctic. At the same time, federal attention to the development of border regions is minimal. The authors list reasons why the group of border regions requires finding adequate management measures.
