In the framework of the new economic relations, personal subsidiary farming (PSF) was an objectively necessary social element. Already at the first stages of the existence of the collective-farm and collective-farm system, the main economic function of the personal subsidiary farming was to provide a living wage necessary for the reproduction of the labor force in the countryside. First of all, this determined the legal status of this farming, its place in conditions of almost complete non-economic withdrawal by the state of agricultural products produced in the public sector.
