To the question of the use of home reading technology in teaching a second foreign language to students of higher education (using the example of German)

This article is devoted to the effective technology of teaching the second foreign language of university students - home reading. The article examines in detail the features and difficulties of teaching a second foreign language, the principles and laws of the process of reading in a foreign language, justifies the benefits of using home reading with the perception of the text by ear (listening). The practical part gives a clear idea of the organization of home reading (using the example of the German language), indicating specific texts, forms and methods of checking it. Finally, there are conclusions about the effectiveness of this type of reading for the development of pronunciation, spoken and written language skills, for improving the grammatical side of speech, the development of phonemic hearing, expanding vocabulary, and increasing the motivation for learning a second foreign language.
